Training & Development
One of the principal challenges facing the HGV industry currently is a lack of qualified and time-served technicians in the labour market.
Pullman Fleet has implemented a number of solutions to mitigate these recruitment challenges which includes an increased spotlight on learning and development.
We view training as continuous, and work closely with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and other training providers to monitor legislative change and new technologies: this ensures our workforce remain knowledge experts in their field.
The below outlines some of the training programmes
we currently have underway across our workshops:
Apprenticeship schemes:
an increased investment in our apprenticeship programme saw 15 apprentices hired in 2022 and six hired in 2023.
Ongoing Garage Manager and Technician training:
Ongoing Garage Manager and Technician training: Our garages have a Skills Framework in place which forms the basis of our training roadmap. Regular performance reviews further identify any training needs to ensure capability.
