Job Overview
Are you a HGV Technician/Mechanic looking for a new exciting role in a growing and expanding business?
We are looking for a HGV Technician to join our team in Sherburn. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
Salary: £39,292
OTE £50,000 (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3 month period)
Overtime available: Saturday £25.76ph and Sunday £34.35ph
Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 06:00am – 14:30pm alternate late shift 11:30am – 20:00pm
Responsibilities
· Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers
· Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
· Overhaul electrical equipment and components
· Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
· Welding and metal working
· Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
· Parts ordering and stores management
· Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
· Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
· Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
Qualifications:
· Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
· Diagnostics skills/qualifications – desirable
· A valid Class 1 licence – desirable
· Proficient in using hand tools, power tools.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
